Protect the plating of your jewelry by removing it when washing your hands, swimming, exercising, cleaning and before applying any kind of personal body product. Maintain your jewelry’s shine by avoiding contact with agents such as soaps, perfume, lotion, makeup, hair & cleaning products, etc. Always wear your rubber or metal safety backs with your earrings to prevent loss. The Malu Voss jewelry pouch doubles as a safe haven for your jewelry’s storage and a polishing cloth to keep it looking bright and shiny. 

Sterling Silver jewelry care

Sterling Silver is delicate and may be damaged if not handled with care. Remove jewelry when washing your body, swimming, exercising, or cleaning. Avoid contact with soaps, perfume, lotion, makeup, hair, and cleaning products. Stones are fragile and can break, crack, or scratch if not handled with care. Avoid extreme heat.

Your jewelry pouch doubles as a polishing cloth. We recommend using the pouch to store your jewelry and polish your jewelry as needed. To clean, rub your jewelry gently in one direction. Do not use products like tissue paper or paper towels, as they can cause scratching.

A silver cleaner can be used on pure Sterling Silver pieces, but not 18k Yellow Gold Vermeil or 18k Rose Gold Vermeil. To clean the thread on your cord bracelet, occasionally wash it with a soft sponge and mild soap in lukewarm water. Our jewelry is protected with an anti-tarnish solution, but may wear with time and improper care.

Malu Voss cannot guarantee that the gold-plating of our items will last forever. Gold-plated items are, by their nature, more fragile and susceptible to lose colour over time. The speed at which this colour fades will depend on various factors, such as the use of chemical products on the skin, how much the wearer sweats, or even the pH level of the individual’s skin. For this reason, it is particularly important to ensure suitable care of your gold-plated jewellery. Note that all our jewelry are nickel-free.
